Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about filing with Accountrivia.

Whichever of these is easiest for you:

  • A profit and loss statement and balance sheet from your bookkeeping software
  • A spreadsheet of income and expenses
  • Bank statements covering your full accounting period
  • Your 10-digit UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference)
  • HMRC Government Gateway credentials with the Corporation Tax service activated
  • Your Companies House authentication code

If you don't have a Government Gateway account, create one first. Then log in, choose to add a tax to your account, and request a Corporation Tax activation code — it normally arrives by post within 7–10 days.

Micro — meets at least 2 of:

  • £1 million or less revenue
  • Balance sheet total of £500,000 or less
  • 10 or fewer employees

Small — meets at least 2 of:

  • £15 million or less revenue
  • Balance sheet total of £7.5 million or less
  • 50 or fewer employees

Once your figures are in, our system prepares a draft of your accounts and CT600 and your accountant reviews it in full. We aim to have everything ready for you within two working days of receiving what we need. You review it, we answer any questions, and we only file once you've approved — with confirmation sent when both submissions are complete.

No. AI handles the preparation work — categorising, reconciling and drafting — which is where the time savings come from. A qualified accountant then reviews every figure and takes responsibility for what is filed. Nothing is submitted without human sign-off and your approval.

The CT600 is the Corporation Tax return HMRC requires from all active companies. It covers your tax calculation, accounts and supporting computations — all included in your fee.

If your first accounting period runs longer than 12 months, HMRC requires two returns — one covering the first 12 months and a second covering the remainder. Where this applies, both are included in your package.

Upload them directly in the portal, or email them to us — whichever is easier.

Log in to your account once we've told you your filings are ready to review. After submission you'll receive a confirmation email and can download everything for your records at any time.

  • Companies House: 9 months after your accounting period ends (21 months after incorporation for a first set of accounts)
  • HMRC: 12 months after the period end to file your return — but any tax due must be paid within 9 months and 1 day

Always check the exact dates on your own Companies House and HMRC records, as they can differ.

You'll find it on the Companies House register. HMRC and Companies House dates usually align, but HMRC may issue a notice with specific dates — check these by logging in to your Government Gateway account.

Usually, yes. Tell us your deadline when you sign up and we'll prioritise your filing. The sooner your documents reach us, the sooner we can submit.
